Validating Self-Care

Published on: 28th January, 2024

How do we validate the importance of self-care for ourselves and each other? That is a great question and an important one in thinking about how we can make self-care much more on our priority list. Sometimes when we finally get some self-care time it doesn’t seem like enough, and we cannot validate ourselves taking a little bit extra. Tune in as we chat about:

  • Giving yourself permission - needing to hear from others too.
  • Encouragement from yourself and accepting it from others.
  • Treating yourself with kindness and saying pleasant things to yourself (especially internal head talk).
  • Interruptions to self-care, how they are managed, and how they feel.
  • Comparisons of older versions of ourselves and the new life we are surrounded by.
  • Permission. Do we need it? Are we seeking it?
  • Accepting your own limitations and mistakes, realising there will be some days when self-care is low.

We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
