Chores and Self-Care

Published on: 27th August, 2023

A couple of times a week two friends meet for an hour or so, for a particular podcast called Mucked Up My Self-Care. For that hour or so, sometimes the rest of reality melts into it’s own space. And while we may have little people on our lap a lot of the time, we can at least ignore the chores for just a little bit longer. Well, until we decide to talk about chores that is. Listen in as we chat about:

  • Those pesky cobwebs and how sometimes we need to prioritise other things over housework.
  • When we feel like we can’t keep on top of chores.
  • Adapting to what we can achieve at certain stages and phases of our lives.
  • Getting our kids to help out with chores and be included in the house coordination.
  • Becoming a martyr and the victim mentality we can fall into.
  • Do any mamas iron anymore?
  • Routine and flow, when it goes right and all syncs into place.

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
