Am I Really a Priority Over My Kids When It Comes to Self-Care?

Published on: 19th November, 2023

Am I Really a Priority Over My Kids When It Comes to Self-Care? It’s a big question and also means that there’s several other questions that pop into our mind as Jill and Linda explore self-care priorities. Listen in as we ask many questions and ponder our current realities and discuss:

  • Cups. Half-filled or half empty?
  • The conflict between internal and maternal instincts of being a mother and wanting to care for and tend to our children and wanting to be selfish for ourselves.
  • Would we be friends to ourselves? Would we talk to a friend the way we talk to ourselves?
  • Counterbalance and counteraction with the fact we need to put ourselves first.
  • Seasons that we go through and break them down into smaller chunks.
  • Can stress be eliminated?
  • How we continue to beat ourselves up over and over again. The expectations we put on ourselves and aspects we take on from other people.
  • Who's oxygen mask would you 'actually' put on first?

It’s no joke, there’s a lot to discuss in this self-care business and we will be back next week. Do you relate? These conversations are here to shift and shake us into change. We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
