When Self-Care Feels Too Hard

Published on: 23rd June, 2024

What happens when self-care feels like the hardest thing in the world? When you're swamped in responsibilities and hardly want to adult yourself into making dinner and tackling the toothbrush again? In this episode, we delve into the challenges of when self-care feels like a monster that is stuck under the bed. Tune in as we talk about:

  • Balancing work, family, time and our own values with kids climbing on desks and all the unexpected things that happen as you try to run out the door.
  • Trying to cram everything into shorter time slots and wondering how on earth we can increase our hours in the day to get it all done.
  • Remembering how we have overcome and created experiences for both us and our family (even when it 'feels' too hard.
  • Allowing ourselves to be okay with where we are at. Not adding unnecessary pressure is a form of self-care.
  • Choosing your hard and living a value-driven life.
  • The power of sticky note time and how it helps us to prioritise our self-care.

The unfiltered and unedited quest continues, and even all these conversations and episodes in we still fully believe that self-care will feel hard at times. We hope you are finding yourself and setting yourself up for better success, especially through the hard bits.

A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
