Things Around Me Are Being Affected by our Mucked Up Self-Care

Published on: 15th October, 2023

Jill and Linda are coming off the back of a massive week and wondering, how come things around them are being so mucked up by our self-care (or sometimes lack thereof). As mamas there are times when we often take on the load and almost absorb the emotions and energy around us. While there are pros and cons to having an innate awareness of what is going on, it’s an important conversation to tackle as we chat about:

  • When things all seem to intertwine together, especially around bedtime and dinner.
  • Parenting less and parenting more. How when we sacrifice it can lead to anger and frustration and dribbles in our self-care cups, which then leads to less energy and connection with those around us.
  • Our own attitudes. Yep, confronting what we both need to work on, out loud and on air.
  • How our productivity is being affected and what tasks we are putting our energy into.
  • Martyrdom and efforts into housework.
  • Adult tantrums. Combined with hormones, they can be an absolute doozey!
  • Dishes….again! They seem to keep piling up every single day.

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
