The Ongoing Journey of Self-Care (About Us and How We Got Here)

Published on: 14th May, 2023

There’s a LOT out there when it comes to self-care. It’s an internet buzz word that’s taken off like stripes to a Zebra. Yet, how do we actually do when it comes to self-care, especially if we are actually honest with ourselves? Well, Jill and Linda have a stack ton of questions just like this one to explore in real, raw, and honest conversations about self-care and what that actually means to us. In this intro, behind scenes episode we chat about:

  • Who we are, where we are, our self-care understandings, a little about us outside being mum (or is it mom?). From New York to Tasmania – there are clearly global commonalities and needs.
  • Muck highs and muck lows. The good and the bad and all the other shades of grey in between. Each episode we will be sharing our highs and lows for the day and what that looks like in our everyday lives.
  • Which oxygen mask are you putting on first? The push/pull of instincts vs what society thinks we should do.

Our self-care isn’t going anywhere and neither are we. We are so excited to collaborate and join in this adventure together. And we would love to hear what you think about our first episode, or any ways that you are taking care of or mucking up your self-care.

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
