The Cost of Self-Care

Published on: 18th June, 2023

Does your self-care come at a cost? Have you thought about the emotional, financial and physical impacts of when we do and don't have self-care as a regular bonus in our busy lives? Linda and Jill are back for another week for the Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast and today they are chatting about:

  • On ramps and off ramps. Organising our spaces for success and how that can help us in the long run. Listen for the symbolism in the background as we giggle about what that looks like.
  • Exchanges of positives and negatives (aka highs and lows) and how we can gauge ourselves about how much we need at different points in our week or day.
  • Changing perspectives through a simple walk and ice pops in hand.
  • How we feel like we 'have' to get stuff done. Stuck thinking of sacrifices and living proof it can be different.
  • Financial investments, that don't cost a bomb!

We would love to hear what you think and any ways that you are taking care of or mucking up your self-care.

We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
