Self-Care and Sleep

Published on: 25th February, 2024

1 in 3 adults are not getting enough rest or sleep, and there’s a high chance that many of those adults are parents. It’s quite a conundrum, because both Jill and Linda both know that getting more sleep also helps them get more self-care. But what happens when the day turns into night and the parenting doesn’t end? Listen in as we discuss real-life experiences and chat about what is happening in our self-care worlds. We cover a few topics including:

  • Food and sleep and hormone health.
  • When we finally get more sleep and realise how little sleep we are actually getting.
  • Bedtimes, kids, and lack of sleep when we put ourselves last. Coordination or children at different ages and with different needs.
  • Will we ever go to the bathroom alone again?
  • The attention we sometimes need at the end of the day too.
  • Is there a window of opportunity to bring in a join self-care thing as part of bedtime routine?

We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
