How Are You Practicing Self-Care During or After Vacation/Travel?

Published on: 31st December, 2023

While Jill is wrapped up under a blanket with the white of snow behind her, Linda is squinting in the sun as she approaches a long summer of heat and mucking up. We have an important question to kick off the conversation today - how are you practicing self-care during or after vacation/travel? It’s the week after Christmas and while we’re stacking boxes and making sure we're not too mucked up from our Christmas self-care. Listen in as we chat about:

  • Long distance travelling with toddlers and children. Our experiences and how the unexpected can certainly mean our self-care needs some extra attention.
  • Time zones and interrupted schedules that can be delightfully challenging at times when travelling.
  • Unpredictable moments both during and after vacation/travel and real life examples of what life can throw at us.
  • Lists and different ways that we can organise our ship for self-care practices.
  • Travel anxieties as mamas.
  • The difference between travelling pre-kids and with kids.
  • Regrouping ourselves as part of self-care and realising that we can't own everybody's stuff all of the time.

We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
