Delegating and Self-Care? Do it Yourself or Ask for Help?

Published on: 16th July, 2023

We're off to a flying start when Zoom was being a bit sticky with the record button! Jill and Linda are back for another week of Mucking Up and talking all things delegation today. Sometimes a dirty word, sometimes a word that seems easier to say than do. We explore together and talk about:

  • Supermarkets/Grocery shopping. It is not our favourite. Especially with kids. While there may be a difference in the vocab between New York and Tasmania - the basic concept is the same. Boot vs trunk vs curbside pickup. How can you delegate the food that's critical for growing kids?
  • Can we get all our needs met when delegating? Or is the mushy strawberries inevitable?
  • Control freakiness. Sometimes it feels like it's just easier to do it ourselves rather than going on a treasure hunt for the tongs or saucepan lids in the wrong spot.
  • Linda and that dishwasher again....dishes piling up and routine out of whack.
  • Can we delegate our self-care? An interesting question...find out more inside this episode.

We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
