Transitioning to More (or less) Self-Care

Published on: 17th March, 2024

One of the greatest aims since the birth of the Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast has been to transition our self-care in ways which allow us to grow and discover what self-care means to us. Hopefully in the process this will also get you thinking and transitioning as well. What happens when we transition to more, or less, self-care as we become more knowledgeable. We ponder this question and more today as Jill and Linda talk about:

  • When we try to cram in too much self-care.
  • Learning to utilise our time (without cramming it full)
  • When we try to prioritise other things over self-care.
  • Building our self-care muscles.
  • How self-care transitions are not linear.
  • Discernment about what is important in our self-care practices.
  • Shifting with the seasons you go through.
  • Considering the kid's seasons, yours, nature's, other's.
  • Being honest to stop something that's not filling your cup or is an energy suck.
  • Being confident to start something new and disciplined to stick with it - might fear this though.
  • We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
