Overindulgence in Self-Care

Published on: 29th December, 2024

As we wrap up 2024, Jill and Linda reflect on the highs and lows of the season. From sweet family traditions to the sometimes overwhelming need for solitude and balance. This episode concentrates on the real and relatable side of self-care, especially during the holidays when indulgence can sneak in under the guise of relaxation.

  • The joy of family time, but also the need for space and quiet.
  • The delicate balance between guiding little ones and managing their endless energy.
  • Recognizing when self-care crosses into habits that leave us feeling worse, like too much social media scrolling or late-night Netflix binges.
  • Small shifts to replenish energy without the guilt spiral.
  • How to step into 2025 with intention, leaving the less helpful habits behind.

As you reflect on your own self-care this season, we invite you to take stock of what truly fills your cup. Sometimes, the best self-care isn’t what’s easy but what nurtures you long-term.

Take a moment this week to identify one small way to refresh your self-care routine. Share it with us – we’d love to hear how you’re resetting for the year ahead.

Thank you for spending this year with us. We’re so grateful for our community of moms showing up, even in the muck of it all.

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
