Highs and Lows of Self-Care

Published on: 22nd September, 2024

Each episode Jill and Linda start the conversation by sharing recent highs and lows that are currently happening all around them. Why do we do this? To appreciate, acknowledge and understand that there are several aspects to self-care and parenting and life is 'real' in the fact that we can't just focus on one particular area. There are times when we are left unsatisfied that we didn't get the outcome we were hoping for. On the flipside, even if it doesn't work out the way we were hoping, there are still moments of joy and appreciation that things are working out differently. Listen in as we chat about the highs and lows and talk about:

  • Starting the school year strong, even with mishaps along the way.
  • When each time we sit down there is something being destroyed, destructed, ripped up, torn down and how we can turn that around.
  • How in each bad day there can be good moments.
  • It is important to talk it out and have support when we are stuck in lows and celebrating highs.
  • The reality of mucked-up motherhood and self-care.

We continue to learn and do our best and we would love you to join the conversations and email us at muckedupmyselfcare@gmail.com with any questions, suggestions, or comments from this episode.

Until next week – we hope you can unstuck your muck!

About the Podcast

Mucked Up My Self-Care Podcast
Real, Raw and Unedited Conversations From Two Global Moms/Mums
A podcast for moms about the real, raw, and unscripted perspectives of guilt-free self-care by two moms across the globe. This unedited podcast is real life and their personal experiences told in friendly conversation style. Advocating for all moms who have mucked up their self care.

There are so many others out there that aren't successfully solving the real problem of trying to figure out what self-care is. We want to bring to light the reality of what self-care can look like for moms who struggle to fit it in, don't know what will work for them, and the ways that it hasn't worked. We want to have conversations about the guilt we feel when we are pressured to mother ourselves when we don't know how and aren't given the support to in our society today.
